Silica is chemically stable inorganic synthetic powder which has no stimulation
to skin, and therefore it has been generally used for a cosmetic ingredient.
Synthetic silica particles for color cosmetic have various shape such as spherical,
flaky, or needle-shaped, and among them, multi-porous or hollow spherical particles
with average size of 3∼15µm are commonly used.
This kind of spherical silica particles provide effective fluidity to color
cosmetic products due to their morphological characteristics, and when applied
to skin, provide soft feeling and wide spreadability to skin due to large fluidability
of spherical particle.
Although silica material has transparent property due to its similar refractive
index to water, spherical silica is used for the manufacture of transparent-looking
but hiding cosmetic because of diffused reflection on the surface of spherical
silica. And also, spherical silica is used as a diffusion-helping agent for
emulsion cosmetic because its size is very fine and its surface is hydrophilic
Silight(trade name) powder has spherical shape with narrow size distribution,
The size of Silight powder can be controlled by the manufacturing recipe, and
Silight is multi-porous and hollow according to its size 2nm.
In our company spherical products with mean particle size between 3 to 10µm
have been marketed which scatter light on the surface of its particle, which
are transparent, but give natural coverage on skin.

- 1g Loss : 3% max. After heating 1 h at 500°C
- Loss on drying : 3% max. After drying 1 h at 105°C at our factory
